Why Life, Leadership, and Mindfulness Coaching

While I’m sure they are well-intentioned, I am getting flooded by a constant stream of social media posts and websites listing all the ways they can help me live a better life and all I need to do to make it happen. We’ve all seen them; they are known as the aptly named ‘listicles’; these are articles that just list things. You can’t escape them if you tried:

Ten ways to a better love life

6 Strategies to relax before bed

Learn gratitude in 2 weeks

15 ways to awesome mental Self-care

Simplify your life using these 99 life hacks

I’m sure you get it. Such uplifting, puffy short reads, even perhaps squeaking out a teeny tiny bit of motivation. The strategies to achieve success in these posts sound absolutely great on the surface, but once you start digging in a bit deeper, things aren’t as shiny and simple as they appear. There are a few things to keep in mind regarding these types of posts.

Let’s look at Facebook, for example. If you follow a bunch of pages after a while, you’ll begin to notice how so many of them point out things that are wrong in your life (obviously because they have something to sell to fix it).

Not only that, but it’s also the sheer volume of information overload in your Facebook feed that pulls you from one direction to another. Even if you want to try to improve yourself, you’re left struggling to decide; which self-improvement strategy do I use, and what part of me do I want to start improving in the first place?

So moving on from Facebook, if I wanted to learn 15 ways to awesome mental self-care alone, how would I even begin to put their strategies into practice in my life with everything that’s going on? How can I measure it, so I know what I’m doing is right? How will I know when I’m ‘there’ and achieved everything I need to? What defines success?

Those tiny bits of motivation that these posts give you are fleeting at best. Like a party, sparkler lit up bright only to go out very quickly and die.

You see it now; you can almost feel that overwhelming feeling come over you from just thinking about it.

We all have parts of us that we’d like to improve upon. This I get for sure. Learning strategies to live a better quality of life with the confidence to grow in areas of your life you haven’t explored before is a great thing. Enjoy simplifying your life, building deeper relationships, whether at work or in your personal life, reducing stress and learning to live in the present with intention, and making quality time meaningful. This is why I do what I do. Improving your well-being is what I do with Amal Candido Life Leadership & Mindfulness coaching.

I often get asked, why Life, Leadership & Mindfulness coaching? What is it that you do that I couldn’t on my own reading an article on ways to improve my life? Well, in short, a few things actually:

  • Coaching is all about you. You are in charge. I’m not here to tell you how to live your life.
  • As a coach, I’m here to help you identify your strengths. I’m not here to point out your weaknesses.
  • It’s on me to create a judgment-free environment for you. It’s on me to give you the space to create your vision of what you want for your life. A purposeful life enriched with confidence and well-being
  • Coaching teaches you that your motivation comes from within. This is known as intrinsic motivation and NOT motivation that fleetingly comes from an external source
  • A coach helps you identify and tap into your gifts
  • I’m here to help with your SMART goals (simple, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound). You own the vision of well-being in your personal and professional life
  • As your coach, I’m there to build on your ability to achieve your goals through determination and a deep belief in yourself
  • I will hold you accountable though I would never harp on a lack of progress. This is a learning and discovery process
  • Coaching helps you to make consistent behavior changes that will increase your quality of life and lead a life of purpose and fulfillment
  • Coaching helps you to create systems that support the overall well-being of your personal and professional life
  • Coaching provides you with tools and resources for more long sustainable healthy habits, living mindfully in the moment, and creating a life that you love and desire
  • Coaching drives you to channel your inner strength and fully utilize your character strength instead of focusing on perfection tendencies and short-term solutions

  • Mindfulness coaching helps you to connect with your most inner being guiding and building your resilience, well-being, and mental fitness
  • Mindfulness coaching increases your focus, concentration, and performance
